ONGC’s Uran plant is an onshore oil and gas processing facility located in Uran, Maharashtra. There are plans to expand the plant by adding a new cogeneration unit and an Enhanced Reactive Thermal Oxidizer (ERTO), which are currently in the conceptual/planning stage1. The Uran refinery has a design capacity of 320,000 barrels per day and is operated by ONGC2. In the past, there have been incidents such as a major fire in September 2019, which resulted in casualties and an evacuation.
